What is a Critrix Xenapp?
A Critirix Xenapp is a product which extends ‘Microsoft Remote Desktop Session Host’ desktop sessions and applications to users through a Citrix HDX protocol.
These services allow IT departments to centrally manage applications and computer resources in a secure data centre – allowing users to access anywhere!
A Critrix Xenapp environment consists of three parts:
- A multiuser operating system
Microsoft Windows Server with remote desktop session host feature to allow users to access a server and connect to individual Citrix Xenapp apps or desktop sessions.
- Xenapp software
Xenapp extends the remote desktop service applications and desktops to a client’s device through a HDX protocol. It provides a remote display.
- Client Devices
Citrix Xenapp applications and sessions can be accessed by endpoint devices using a software clients call Citrixs Receiver.
